This USB GPS Receiver for Computers is a compact, accurate GPS receiver with low power consumption that works directly from your computer's USB port and does not require user initialization or external power. All you need to do is plug it into the USB port of your laptop or netbook and install the GPS navigation software of your choice and you're good to go! This USB GPS receiver performs even better than car-dedicated GPS units or handhelds as the magnetic base of the antenna allows it to be securely positioned wherever you find the best view of the sky (and hence best reception) or even placed on the outside of the vehicle.
This USB GPS receiver incorporates the latest SiRF Star III GPS chipset and a built-in patch antenna so you receive a high degree of GPS accuracy and performance even at low signal levels. Data output by this GPS receiver include latitude, longitude, altitude, velocity, satellite and receiver status and to ensure up-to-the-second accuracy, the receiver tracks up to 20 satellites at a time, re-acquires satellite signals in about 100 milliseconds and updates position data every second.
